Lumbini, Nepal – where Buddha was born

Located at the foot of the Himalayas, Lumbini is a famous land and sacred pilgrimage site for Buddhism.

Legend has it that when he was born, the Buddha stood firmly on his two feet, facing the North and walked seven steps. Each step of the Buddha was supported by a lotus below and Lumbini is where the Buddha lived for up to five years.
