Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, despite not keeping a clean sheet in his 19th match, still played prominently with many saves.
Although Courtois had to work hard, Real won without difficulty.
Without playing too convincingly, Real still knows how to score goals by taking advantage of their opponents’ mistakes.

Real would have decided the match sooner if Toni Kroos had been luckier with his long-range shot in the 81st minute. The ball hit the bottom edge of the crossbar and rebounded, allowing Marco Asensio to head in unsuccessfully.
It seemed like the home team would play leisurely in the final minutes, but Villarreal suddenly pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute. Mario Gaspar crossed the ball from the right wing, allowing striker Vicente Iborra to head the ball toward the far corner.
In the final minute of compensation, Vinicius soloed and then passed the ball to Asensio to kick into Villarreal’s net.
