Goals: Ronaldo penalties 13, 52, McKennie 20
Ronaldo was knocked down by midfielder Ronald Araujo in Barca’s penalty area, then opened the score from a penalty kick in the 13th minute. Seven minutes later, the Portuguese superstar ran and attracted both Barca midfielders, helping Weston McKennie launch a close-range volley.
Ronaldo (right) scored 14 goals in the last 13 matches at Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi completed 11 shots, including seven towards the goal, but did not score.
Ronaldo affected all three of Juventus’ goals, while goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon stopped all seven of Barca’s shots towards the goal.
If Barca’s defense does not improve until the knockout round from February 2021, they will be in big trouble.
Those opportunities are not enough to help Barca wake up.
The situation where Araujo used his hands and feet to block Ronaldo (No. 7) led to a penalty.
Juventus increased the score to 2-0 from a beautiful arrangement.
Barca gradually regained the match, with Miralem Pjanic’s finish, from Messi’s kick.
All seven shots towards Barca’s goal were made by Messi, but Buffon saved them all.
At the beginning of the second half, Ramsey almost increased the score to 3-0, but his shot could not beat Ter Stegen.
Barca only needed one goal to regain the top of the table, but couldn’t do it.
Ronaldo not only contributes to the attack, but also helps the defense.
In the next match, Juventus is away at Genoa Stadium on Sunday evening, December 13, in round 11 of Serie A. Barca continues to play at home against Levante in round 13 of La Liga.
