Harmony Tan attended the Wimbledon main draw for the first time and played under great pressure on Center Court.
Tan was a member of the French women’s tennis team that participated in last year’s Billie Jean King Cup (equivalent to the men’s Davis Cup).
This was the longest match since the beginning of the tournament in the women’s singles, with 3 hours and 14 minutes, of which the third set was 1 hour and 20 minutes long.
Serena failed despite having 61 winning points, three more than her juniors.
Tan reached the second round of the Australian Open earlier this year but has not advanced beyond this round in any Grand Slam.
