The vinyl record revived spectacularly.

There have been many theories and definitions to explain why vinyl records or light sound systems are not only not dead but are returning in a spectacular way.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, in 2009, the recording industry had a bumper crop since its beginning in 1991 with sales of vinyl records increasing from 1.8 million in 2008 to 2.5 million in 2009 in the context of CD sales.

Although compared to total sales, vinyl records are still far behind the number of digital music downloads on music portals such as Apple’s iTunes, their revival is becoming a remarkable phenomenon.

Light technology takes off

Manufacturers of audio equipment that use vacuum tubes also feel demand is gradually increasing again.

Since the early 2000s, digital audio has grown rapidly thanks to the popularity of personal music devices such as the Apple iPod, music download portals such as iTunes, and broadband Internet services.

Leading this growth trend is the rapid emergence of products that actively support digital audio play at home, represented by digital-analog conversion devices (DAC – Digital Analog).

According to Paul McGowan, CEO of PS Audio, the biggest advantage of DAC is that it allows listening to different digital music formats on home stereo systems.

McGowan believes that with the digital music market growing rapidly, investing in a DAC device will help customers keep up with future changes in music storage or transmission methods.
