On the morning of July 24, the Standing Committee met to prepare content to report to the National Assembly to issue a Resolution on prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
Representative of the Government, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that the Covid-19 situation is complicated, the Government has flexibly applied legal regulations to organize and effectively implement Covid-19 prevention and control.
According to the draft content of Covid-19 prevention and control proposed to be included in the Resolution, the National Assembly assigned the Prime Minister to proactively apply measures implemented in recent times, measures specified in Article 54 of the Law on Prevention and Control.

The Government also proposed to apply necessary measures and promulgate regulations that are not yet prescribed by law or are different from the law’s provisions, to promptly handle arising problems.
In particular, the Government can apply a special mechanism, specifically purchasing drugs, vaccines, medical equipment, and chemicals;
In addition, the Government proposes to use directives, resolutions and other forms of documents under its promulgation authority to regulate, apply and deploy measures to serve the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic;
The Government proposes to decide to transfer funding sources in the approved estimate, change or transfer funds in the budget, but not yet in the estimate, for disease prevention and control;
The Government emphasizes the view of putting people’s lives and health first;
The results of implementing the resolution’s measures will be reported by the Government to the National Assembly at the nearest session.

By the morning of July 24, the whole country recorded 83,191 cases of Covid-19 infection, of which Ho Chi Minh City was the locality with the largest number of cases, 52,544 cases;
